Tropical Storm Outlook: At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Two-C was located near latitude 11.9 North, longitude 143.1 West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 16 mph, and this general motion is expected during the next few days. On the forecast track, the center of the system is expected to pass near or south of the Big Island of Hawaii this weekend. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
