Water ponds observed at the bottom of Kilauea's Halemaumau crater are now joined, as scientists keep a close watch on the activity. Observations on Saturday afternoon (Aug. 10) show that the water level at the bottom of Halemaumau continues to slowly rise, enlarging the area of the pond, scientists reported.
